My story

 

Team Laura - The Three Peaks Yacht Race 2006

Thank you for visiting our  fundraising page.  This will be a great event but also the culmination of lots of preparation.  Dick Stain, our Captain, has done an amazing job of building a 40 foot yacht in his back garden in Cheshire over the past five years, with the help of his co-owner Jeff Tomlinson.  Our 5 man team will now race the boat in the Three Peaks Yacht Race http://www.threepeaksyachtrace.co.uk/index.php3, which takes us from Barmouth on the West Coast of Wales, to the Scottish highlands.  Along the way we will dock in Caernarfon, Whitehaven and Fort William to enable us to race to the highest points in Wales, England and Scotland.  You can visit the team website at http://www.vibro.f9.co.uk/index.htm

In total this is 389 miles of difficult coastal sailing, 36 miles of cycling and 61 miles of running, with 14,000 feet of ascent to reach the highest points in Wales, England and Scotland.  Expected duration 4 days.  We need to get two people to the top of each peak, so the effort can be shared out to some degree.   The plan is that Dick and Andrew will start with Snowdon, Jeremy and Dave with Scafell and whoever is most capable will finish off with Ben Nevis.

I am sure that the National Society for Epilepsy will apprecaite anything that you are able to give.  Income tax will be reclaimed automatically, boosting your contribution by 28%.
