Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Your help to raise some much needed funds for The Racehorse Sanctuary is very much appreciated. I have only ridden a horse once, when the Army had some fun at my expense, knowing the my mount would try and rub me off on a tree! But I have since come to know some wonderful racehorses, and to admire the work of the Sanctuary in providing a Life after Racing, when racing days are done.
I can, however, still ride a bicycle, which is why I decided to join the Prudential RideLondon event on Saturday 9 August and to seek your sponsorship on behalf of the Sanctuary. I also signed up to attempt on the Guinness Book of Records for the largest cycle bell ringing orchestral production ever. So along with 638 other cyclists, split into four teams, with a different bell tone for each team, I am a World Champion at last. You can read more about this at:
http://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/News/Newsroom/Record-breaking_start_to_Prudential_RideLondon_FreeCycle_s1_p19848.htm.The whole event was great fun and I am glad I participated; seeing the sights without worrying about traffic was well worth the effort of getting up at 5:25 am to get to the Guildhall with my bike for 7:45 am. After the world record was authenticated we were free to join thousands of other cyclists all all shapes and sizes cycling around the FreeCycle route; the montage of poppies at the Tower of London was stunning, and cycling down the Mall without a care in the world was magical.
