My story

 

Thanks for visiting this fundraising page., and congratulations on getting here/there!

I have applied to do THE London Marathon for the last 3 years but all I get is a resounding 'Raspberry'! Undaunted - and much to Anne's relief - I decided to go for the 2nd running of the London 10kms (the 1st being last year). Having been in training since early Feb (but I have to say not 1958!) I'm also rather relieved - 10kms is quite far enough.

It coincides however with Patrick & Iara's next challenge.  The Brazilian authorities now recognise what P & I are doing and are helping with the provision of a 2nd 'home' for the older Mums (over 18!). The challenge for them however is the provision of a Community Centre for the local young people. They have managed to buy some land adjoining their site and have planning approval to build a Centre. They have little money - having bought the land - to proceed, but they are proceeding in Faith! It's happened before so it can happen again. So over to you!!!  I'm very aware of the financial constraints etc that we're all enjoying, but I hope you can see your way to helping ( don't forget that there are still 3+ Brazilian Reals to the UK£ and the cost of living there reflects that!)
