FINAL UPDATE

Done and dusted. I managed to haul myself around the marathon course in a little under 5 hours. It was certainly tough going, but the support of the crowds (including a number of friends) was inspiring.

I huge THANKS again to all those who have donated to date.

UPDATE 2

Well - 1 day and 23 hours to go. I am feeling good, and can't wait to get to the start line.

For those of you who are about on the day, I have uploaded a pic in my running kit to help you try and spot me (any encouragement or good natured abuse on the day will be appreciated - especially from mile 20).

UPDATE

Well, it is about 24 days until I line up out East to start the race. The training has gone well (I have not broken anything - touch wood) and as a bonus I have lost about 8kgs (that's 18lbs for any imperialists out there). 

And, believe it or not - I have not had a drink of the alcoholic variety for almost two months (I am getting very sick of diet coke)!

Just one more hard run to do this weekend, 20 miles, before the training winds down.

Well my wish of getting the chance to run the London Marathon has come true. After not expecting to get a charity place after being put on a reserves list (and subsequently dropping off on the hard core running side of things) the Prostate Cancer Charity called up and asked me if I was keen to run for them.

My answer was YES!

(I then realised that I now have to fit 18 weeks of training into 11 and a bit weeks - oh oh)

I am really glad that I get to run for this charity as it helps fight a cancer that has affected my family, as well as many others. I have pledged to raise at least £2,000 for them and would certainly appreciate any help that you can give me so I can help them out.

So please dig deep, cash in your coin jars (I would be happy to cash hem in for you) and sponsor me (for those of you who I have done "free" legal work for in the past, and who have not been sued or sent to jail - consider a donation as some form of payback) .
