Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I can't recall how I got roped into this, but 7th Aug my big brother Robert and I set off by bike from Lands End hopefully arriving in John O'Groats on 21st Aug. Why? I hear you ask. Well, because it's there, because he's 50 this year and because I was daft enough to say I'd join him.
For those of you who don't know Robert, he's the one who started off with an accountancy degree then got hooked on teaching special needs kids. He's been at Hillside School in Portslade for twenty years now, the past ten or more as Head Teacher. I don't know all the ins and outs, but Hillside's kids are all physically or mentally (or both) disabled. At the moment, they're trying to raise funds towards the £20k needed to apply for specialist school status; all funds donated are definitely going to a good cause.
update... update...
Well we did it! We left Lands End as planned (in the sunshine). One fall (me, no broken bones), two punctures (both Robert's), a few wet days, some fantastic scenery, interesting people and places and 1,010 miles later and we arrived at John O'Groats.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends Of Hillside School gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
