In memory of our dear friend Mike Hibbs and to hopefully raise lots of money for the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation, In September I am proposing to cycle what will be the toughest ride of my life.
Starting at the Victoria Falls, Zambia and ending 24 days later at the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa we will cross Botswana by way of the Okavango Delta and the Kalahari Desert and enter Namibia by traversing the vast Namib Desert and through the Dunes at Sossusviei and Fish River Canyon. We will then continue on into South Africa through the Cedarberg Mountains en-route to Cape Town where this epic journey ends.
With the total journey covering nearly 2,000 miles and cycling up to 100 miles a day, the 24 days of sustained riding in such a hot clime, will for me be a real challenge. Having beaten cancer myself I am now left with severe Lymphodema in the left leg and have to wear a very thick, full length support stocking. As if that isn't enough, I will also be camping - often in remote areas without even the most basic of facilities.
If you feel you'd like to help raise money for this very worthy cause, give me the added incentive for all the training required and show Heather, Melanie and Justine just how much Mike meant to us, the impact he made on all our lives and how sadly he is still missed, please follow the link below.
Thank you so much
