A group of us from DCSF are taking part in the 'Run to School' event on October 11th. We're a mixed-ability group, to say the least, so some of us will be doing the 5k fun run, while the more athletically-inclined will do the 10k race.
The run is in aid of Promoting Equality in African Schools (PEAS). PEAS aims to widen access to education in Africa by founding and developing sustainable, low-fee secondary schools. Their current work is focussed in Uganda.
Many students in Uganda walk long distances everyday to get to school. They're the lucky ones. Most have no access to secondary education. All proceeds from this event will go towards the creation of a new, affordable secondary school for young people in Uganda. This is a really good cause, so it would be great if you could sponsor us.
