Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, the highest 'walkable' mountain in the world, a magnificent and spectacular undertaking! Which is a comfort to be sure Hi it's Me! Dee, and between January 3rd and January 10th 2009 I'll be attempting to trek all 19,340ft on the Shira (not Shiraz!) Route to 'Kili's' summit. (www.africatravelresource.com) While undertaking the trek I'll be hoping to raise as much money as possible for Inverclyde Council on Disability (www.icod.org.uk) and here you thought I was going to all this trouble just for the view! ICOD is an organisation that provides advice; information; advocacy; consultancy; a quarterly newsletter and a Shopmobility Service - among other things, to disabled people, their Carers, families and the general public. It is an organisation very close to my heart (having been their first ever worker!) and as a bonus they are celebrating their 21st birthday this year!! I am specifically raising money for their shopmobility services, which like many community organisations today provides an excellent, high quality service operating on a shoestring budget. So please help me to get up 'thon big hill' and help ICOD come of age by making a donation below. Your contribution will be very much appreciated and go towards the continued operation of a valued shopmobility service. Thanks on behalf of ICOD and from me! Peace Dee Gift Aid If you Gift Aid your donation, ICOD will continue to receive an additional 28p. ICOD can claim Gift Aid tax relief of 25p on every pound you give and HMRC will also be operating transitional provisions for Gift Aid donations made from 6 April 2008 until 5 April 2011, paying a government supplement of 3p on every pound you give. So just tick the Gift Aid box when making your donation - it's that simple!
