I will be joining a volunteer dental team from 1st until 14th July working in impoverished villages in the Apurimac region of Peru as part of a dental unit providing emergency dental care and education to patients who would otherwise have no access to pain relief or oral healthcare awareness.
When we arrive in the villages we will set up the dental surgery in the local health post or school, often these villages have no electricity or running water and adults and children walk for up to 7 hours to reach the health post.
The team will work for 1 or 2 days in each village providing dental care for 100s of patients.
Before I leave for Peru I will be carrying out a number of fundraising activities and would be most grateful of any sponsorship or donations you could spare.
