Devas provides creative, sporting, and practical activities to young people in Battersea, with the aim of enabling them to reach their full potential. The club has many enthusiastic and talented members, and while teenagers generally are getting a bad press, is a good news story to be proud of.

Story

Hello and thanks for coming to find this fundraising page in amid all the wedding info. If you think that Keith and I are so old we will have all the stuff we will ever need you might want to consider this more worthy cause.....

In 1884, Jocelyn Devas started a ‘Club for Working Lads’ in a room over a coffee tavern in Stewarts Road, Battersea. He was a graduate of University College Oxford, and, after his death from a climbing accident in Zermatt in 1886, his father offered a substantial endowment if his college friends would carry on the work in Battersea.

It is a great place which holds informal courses in music, drama, dance, arts and crafts, IT and cooking for young people.  However it is a constant struggle to fund the club and the running of the building so any donation will be very gratefully received.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Devas Club gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks again

Al and Keith
