London Marathon
I don't know what the monkey's so happy about. Turns out, training for a marathon is not the fun and enjoyable experience I was led to believe. My training so far has not been without incident.
· I've been chased by a small dog for what seemed a very long time (I obviously would have outrun him but I was tired from my very long run).
· I've gotten lost. A lot.
· I'm always hungry.
· I've spent the majority of many runs adjusting my heart monitor which, gauging from the looks I've received, may appear to look like I'm adjusting some sort of sports bra.
· I can't play football (please no comments about my inabilites as a footballer, it's tough enough as it is).
· I know what most flies taste like.
· I seem to be the target of most birds in Nottingham.
· My shins hurt.
· Running in the snow is not a magical experience.
· I've had to slow down to the point of walking on a number of occasions. At which point, I immediately take on the image of a chav exhibiting severe breathing difficulties with the added bonus of having bird crap all over me. It's a good look.
So, please sponsor me. I'm not saying that any of these factors make me worthy of your money but I know that there are plenty of people out there that really are deserving of your generosity.
Vitalise
Vitalise provide the sorts of breaks that disabled people and carers need to keep on doing what they do. After working with an incredible lady who would spend all her free time caring for her disabled daughter and then go to work where she would be resposible for 4 children with varying forms of autism, I realised just how hard such caring individuals have to work.
This is not the sort of charity that gets the same sort of publicity and support as many of the bigger charities out there.
PLEASE DONATE! EVERY PENNY WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
