Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I DID IT-5 hours and 29 minutes (taking out the toilet queues and the bit of attention I had to have!) but I got there-this is one of my favourite photos-its at mile 12, I think you can see I'm enjoying it-never thought I'd say that!!!
I have been waiting 5 years to get a place through the ballot at the London Marathon because I want to raise money for a local charity that I really believe in, one that I have helped with and have seen first hand where the money goes and the joy it brings. Cherished Memories is a small charity but has 390 terminally ill children registered with it. Please feel free to visit the website www.cherished-memories.co.uk. The idea is to bring some joy into the short lives of these children, surrounded by their families. The days are videoed and the families are presented with a DVD of the day. When the child passes away the families have fond memories to look back on to help them with their grieving process.
I am finding the training tough, its tiring, time consuming and sometimes painful BUT on 27th April I can put my feet up and carry on with my life, sadly these families do not have that luxury.
So please sponsor me now!
