Hello. On 11 July 2009, an event named the Kindrochit Quadrathlon takes place at Loch Tay, Perthshire. This comprises a 1.5 km swim in Loch Tay, Run/Walk 24 km over 7 Munros, Kayak 11 km then a 54 km cycle.
My name is Norman McGlashan and along with a colleague, Davie Threadgold, we will take part and hope to raise as much money as possible for a number of very worthwhile causes.
One of our chosen causes is the Diced Cap Charitable Trust which was founded in 1990. It is a Registered Scottish Charity unique in the UK, believed to be unique worldwide, being run voluntarily by Police officers and support staff from Grampian Police along with a number of retired officers and associates. Its aim is to improve the health and well being of any deserving persons, resident in or connected with the Grampian Police force area.
Our other cause is Mercy Corps which is an international development charity working in over 35 countries worldwide helping vulnerable people amid disasters, conflicts, chronic poverty and instability.
Last year the main project was to fight TB in Romania.
The benefits to the eventual recipients of support from the charities we represent could be immeasurable and will make all the hard work in the gym, swimming pool and on the road in the coming months and on the day extremely worthwhile.
Please help us to support these causes and make a donation, however small today.
Thank you
Norman and Davie.
