Story

Most people these days have a story as to why they raise money for charity but here is mine.

In September 2011, just before my 18th birthday, my sister-in-law sadly passed away after a year battle with a rare form of oseophageal cancer. Ems was a beautiful young woman who took life in her stride and lit up every room she walked in to. Everybody that knew her loved her very much, especially my brother Ben who proposed to her earlier in the year of 2011. He and she are my inspiration for running this marathon.

Ems was diagnosed with osophageal cancer around christmas time 2010 at the age of just 23. She was an amazing girl, always keeping fit and healthy which just shows that cancer can affect anyone.

She was truly inspirational and was going to complete a charity race herself just weeks before she was taken away. She never stopped giving so lets give something back.

Although my brother and Emmaliese never got the chance to marry, I will always consider her to be a part of my family and as the sister I never had. She was always there for me and now I get to be there for her.

I just need to mention my brother one more time as he is the bravest person I know. Having completed half marathons himself for teenage cancer trust, he is my inspiration, motivation and who I aspire to be like later in life and I couldn't be prouder to call him my brother. So Ben, this one's for you :)

Another young man that needs a mention is Matt Gamby who ran the marathon in April 2013; Proving that you CAN run 26 miles when you put your mind to it!Thanks for being such an insipiration Gambs:)

Nothing compares to the feeling of losing someone close to you that you love very much and I still miss her and think of her every day. So let's work together to raise as much money as possible.

As you know, it will take a lot of dedication and training to prepare myself for this challenge so if you could please give generously, it will not go unoticed!

See you at the finish line!
