We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

<p>Welcome to the Diss YFC National 3 Peaks Challange 2011 JustGiving Page!</p> <p><strong>The Mission</strong> - Scaling the highest peak in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) in 24 hrs.</p> <p><strong>The Date</strong> - Saturday 30th April 2011, starting at 5pm. Completing by 5pm Sunday 1st May 2011.</p> <p><strong>The Team </strong>- To be confirmed</p> <p><strong>The Charity</strong> - East Anglian Children's Hospices (EACH). EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life threatening conditions across Norfolk, Suffolk, North Essex and Cambridgeshire.</p> <p>The range of services that EACH can provide include-</p> <p>- Day care in the family home or hospice, or both</p> <p>- Overnight breaks in the hospice</p> <p>- Support for parents, siblings, grandparents and others close to the child</p> <p>- 24 hour telephone support and advice</p> <p>- Therapies - music, physio, occupational and specialist play</p> <p>- Family information service</p> <p>- End of life care in the family home or the hospice depending on family preference</p> <p>- Annual Memory Days and ongoing support for bereaved families</p> <p>To provide these services EACH need to raise &pound;4 million in donations every year.</p> <p><strong>Training</strong> - Laurance's boot camp starting Sunday 13th February. Keep checking here for updates on how the training is going!</p> <p>Training is going really well&nbsp;for the team, we have been swimming once every week, we also have had training session for wen we are training for hockey and other sports events. we all went to Castle mount in Thetford on the 13th feburary to have a training session there, the training there included climbing the the mount and running around the bottom of it and&nbsp;back to were we started, we done this twice, we also done some&nbsp;smaller excrises, and then we finished off with&nbsp;a 2 lap jodge around the park. we are&nbsp;all in the progess of training at the Fit Club Gym&nbsp;in diss.</p> <p><strong>Challange Updates</strong>-</p> <p>- Thursday 20th January- Two Nissan X-Trails secured for the challenge, kindly provided by Ames Nissan, Thetford.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks for taking the time to visit&nbsp;Diss YFC's&nbsp;JustGiving page.
