My story

In June this year, aged 33, my wife Sandra was diagnosed with breast cancer.  As you can imagine the news came as a bit of a shock to say the least.  Following recovery from surgery Sandra is now having chemotherapy treatment. Sadly as a result of this treatment Sandra has lost all of her lovely long hair. I would gladly trade places with Sandra, as the thought of my wife going through this is almost unbearable, however I am unable to do this. But there is one thing I can do. I am going to shave my hair off. I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to raise some money to donate towards the West Sussex Breast Unit at Worthing Hospital.

I would also like to thank family, friends and work colleagues for their support during this very difficult time.  From looking after our two small children, cooking meals, sending cards and flowers, to offering day’s holiday and a listening ear.          Thank you

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Steyning Health Centre and West Sussex Breast Unit at Worthing Hospital who have looked after Sandra exceptionally well.  These include the breast care nurses who have provided great support for us both, the expert hands of Mr Bonomi  and his surgical team, care from the nurses on the recovery ward, Dr Mitra, Sandras oncologist and his team of chemotherapy nurses.  If I’ve missed anyone I apologise.

My hair will be coming off on the 14th November 2009.  There will be some before, during and after photo's, please take a look!!  So even if it is only a small amount dig deep and donate and don’t forget Gift Aid.

I assure you I will look extremely odd without hair!!   And no Trophy comments!!!
