What a FAB day! It was my very first marathon and I had a great time. I was very nervous beforehand, but the crowd were superb and I practically sprinted the last 3 miles. The final push down the Mall was awesome and brilliant!
Lowest moment - at 10 miles, my knee locked which made the rest of the race a huge challange! The pain was BAD but it was worth it!!!
Best Moment-Going through the finish line and still been able to stand!
What did I learn from the experience? That I CAN do it, and that pacing myself and aiming to complete it safely was the best thing I could have done. Savouring the crowds, the atmosphere but, most of all, the other wonderful runners made the experience one to be treasured forever.
We did it Trace!!!!!!
I am running the London Marathon in April and any funds that are raised will go straight to Breast Cancer Haven. This race is in loving memory of my good friend Trace who will have passed away nearly two years ago by the time I run this race. She was an inspiration to us all!!
Cancer is a word that grips our very soul. We all know or have known someone who has battled cancer. We know how their lives were changed in the very instant they were diagnosed. All of us know someone who heroically fought the cancer with everything within them and still lost the battle.
When a friend, partner or loved one is diagnosed with breast cancer, it can be a very frightening and stressful experience. It may be difficult to come to terms with all the changes you are faced with and you may not be sure about the best way to help. By having extra support and information at this time, the journey people face can be made easier. It can help to relieve worry and stress, as well as addressing practical solutions to concerns you may have. Thats why I am asking for your kind donations to support this amazing charity.
