Hi! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
This is my most challenging challenge thus far! I plan to drive a team of spirited huskies 250km across frozen wastelands, in an attempt to raise further monies for the Christadelphian Meal-a-Day Fund. I will start my challenge in Norway and spend 6 days sledding through rolling highlands and deep forest, and cross the Swedish border, finally arriving in Jukkasjarvi.
This is an extreme challenge and I will be trained to steer and brake my sled. I will be required to harness, feed and clean up after my Team of Huskies, erect my own tent and cook my own food. The Arctic Circle has a challenging climate with snow and ice as far as the eye can see and temperatures are expected to drop to below -20 degree's celsius. Sledding will be demanding as I will travel through mountains and hills, where at times, I will have to dismount my sled and help push when the gradient becomes too steep for my Team of Huskies to pull alone. There will be no electricity during this challenge, no shower and no toilet facilities (I will be issued with my own loo roll however - which will be burnt after use).
The Christadelphian Meal-a-Day Fund helps fund food and drinkable water (as well as agricultural development, education and healthcare) to lesser developed parts of the world. 100% of any money raised will go directly to this cause.
I plan to train hard for this event which will involve running at least 3 times weekly, walking daily and cycling when I can. Please help me to help others by digging deep into your pockets and sponsoring me.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christadelphian Meal-a-Day Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
