Each day in the UK five families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on their lives will never be the same again. Most children will survive, some will die, but the scars on every family will remain. CLIC's role is to try and help these children and their families cope and keep life as normal as possible. It offers an all-embracing approach including practical hands-on care, clinical services, financial and emotional support. CLIC has joined together with Sargent Cancer Care for Children to become the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.

My story

In December an envelope arrived at Pippa's door from The London Marathon, at that point the first ... Oh my god.. Was uttered.

Pippa is in!

In a bid to share the pain, David agreed to do the training and together we decided on a charity to run for.

Clic Sargent does some amazing work which has real tangible benefits for the children and their families who are suffering from Cancer and Leukaemia. They are the largest children’s cancer charity and the London Marathon is it’s largest fund raiser.

Since that December day we have followed the training plan for April 23rd in an effort not only to complete the course but to do so in a time we both recognise as being the best we can do and hopefully will never attempt to better! The training is very hard and we are both also competing in The Reading Half Marathon on April 9^th as well as carrying on with our rowing and sculling.

So dig deep, this way of donating is fast, easy and secure. All the money donated goes to this fantastic charity and your support will help us complete the course and the training. If you can make it on the day, your cheers will be a boost.
