Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Having a beer after one of Thistles matches in April we were discussing various things we would like to do while we are still on this earth. I had mentioned I would like to visit base camp at Mount Everest. Needless to say this brought about great hilarity as my idea of a marathon is to stay in the pub for more than 4 hours. My mountaineering career peaked (if you will excuse the pun) 300 yards from the top of Queens View when I stepped in a puddle , or so I thought and went in to my waist.Worse still I was holding my 5 year old sons hand who decided to join me. Being a good Dad I rescued my son and managed to get myself in up to my neck. Sympathy from wife and other children Low.Level of hilarity High. Now I find myself not heading for base camp on Everest but doing my bit for the Scottish economy and tackling our highest peak, Ben Nevis on the 21st of June this year(blizzards allowing of course) Thankfully I have a number of fellow athletes who are also braving the elements.
