A message from Doug on 25th June. Disappointingly, I will not be able to take part in the Andes run this year on medical advice. Nothing serious, and nothing that can't be sorted with a few pills and potions, and I'm sure that I will soon be back running again. I will write individually to all those who have sponsored me already. Thank you all for your support. Best wishes Doug Dear all Well it’s the big 60 this year so hopefully the ageing legs have another ‘mad marathon’ within them! To add to my collection of ‘continents that I have run marathons on’, I have opted for South America this time. As ever on these ‘biggies’, I have chosen a charity to support, and this run will be in aid of CLIC Sargent, the highly respected UK charity that cares for children and young people with cancer. It would be great if you could sponsor me and any amount would be very gratefully received. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. As far as the running is concerned, we’re talking of up to 120 miles over 2 weeks, with impressive landscapes including the Atacama Desert (Chile), Salar de Uyunyi salt flats (Bolivia), Lake Titicaca (Peru and Bolivia) and Colca Canyon (Peru). For more details, please visit www.dougrichards.co.uk Many thanks in advance for your support. Photgraphic evidence of the pain will follow! Cheers Doug
