We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

I've done Paris and I've done New York. It's now time to tackle London. I love running, it frees up my mind, it puts things in perspective and helps keep the weight off.

I've always supported the NSPCC so they were a natural charity to nominate. When I worked for their marketing agency 10 years ago I was privileged to meet several of their project workers in child protection teams around the country. I was impressed by their professionalism and commitment. More than that however, I was appalled at the abuse meted out to so many young, helpless kids.

It defies belief that even today one to two children are killed every week as a result of abuse, almost always by those who are supposed to care for and love them.

So please dig deep and sponsor me. Donating through this site is very simple and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

My goal is to complete the 26.2 miles in about 3hrs 50 minutes. As you read this I probably out there pounding the streets or getting my kit ready for the next training session. Deep joy!

Oh, and if you could suggest any tunes to listen to while I train please add them to your comments.

Many thanks for your support.
