As airline crew, I was honoured to assist with the care of 192 amazing children of Dreamflight 2006... not only on the transatlantic flight, but also during their ten day stay in Orlando where we visited all the major theme parks and Mickey Mouse himself!! The experience was awesome... the children had a holiday of a lifetime ... they returned home laden with souvenirs and memories to cherish forever. The seriously ill children who take part in Dreamflight reside in the UK and The British Overseas Territories.We would like to make a dream come true for two special children from Gibraltar on Dreamflight 2008. In order to do this the target of £6500 must be reached by APRIL 2008... you can help by organising your own fundraising event - or simply by donating through this fundraising page... just click on DONATE NOW (shown above). PLEASE HELP !! By pledging just a few pounds you can help to make a dream come true for at least two special children in our community... the cost per child is £3000 plus the return flights from Gibraltar to London, please help us reach that target. Fundraising is crucial, but where does the money go? £2.50 pays for a group baseball cap for a child, £7.50 provides lunch and refreshments each day for a child and £12.50 buys each child a cuddly Mickey Mouse! £200 allows a child to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove, a truly magical experience. On a larger scale - £1,200 provides each of the 192 children with a DVD of the holiday, personalised to each group, £13000 sponsors a day's entry toMagicKingdom or Universal Studios, with £40,000 the overall cost of the Dreamflight dolphin encounter at Discovery Cove. A final mention to the £320,000 cost of chartering the British Airways 747!
