Bec's Freddie For A Day Donation Page!
Freddie For A Day is a celebration of the life of Freddie Mercury which falls around his birthday date (or whenever I get the chance!). It is meant to engage members of the public in a fun way to remember one of our greatest artists, but behind it is the earnest purpose of raising funds to support the continued work in fighting HIV AIDS worldwide through the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the HIV AIDS charitable organisation set up in Freddie’s memory after his passing 20 years ago.
I was on holiday at the Nurburgring in Germany in 2010 when the first FFAD fell but still wanted to take part so plenty of fun Miss Mercury action took place with photos recording the occasion.

In Sept 2011 we visited Montreux, Switzerland where the iconic Freddie statue proudly stands on the waterfront, close to Queen's Mountain Recording Studios and coinciding with the Freddie Mercury Memorial weekend.

We raised much more money than the previous year for the Mercury Phoenix Trust but it's not over yet, I'll be wearing my costume to raise awareness of the day and charity to various events so keep an eye out - it's still not too late to sponsor me as I will continue to support FFAD as much as I can, whenever I get the opportunity.

The 2012 costume has been decided and as there is a lot of work involved I've started to make it. One of my home made costumes will also be auctioned in 2012 so if you would like details please email me mini.bec@hotmail.com.
