Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This year I am taking on a number of different challenges, partly for my own enjoyment, but as I'm doing them perhaps I could combine them with earning some much needed cash for charity.
Challenge No.1 - COMPLETE
York to Edinburgh cycle ride (15/05 - 17/05)
A 240.3 mile cycle trip
York to Kendal - 86.7 miles
Kendal to Dumfries - 80.2 miles
Dumfries to Edinburgh - 73.4 miles
York to Kendal was one of the worst days cycling I've ever encountered. The rain never stopped, and for nearly 90 miles I was soaking wet, cold and thoroughly miserable, I really didn't want to continue, but the thought of hot shower and a decent meal drove me on. The second and third days turned out to be much kinder, offering a little sunshine to raise my spirits.
Thanks to all who sponsored me......only three more to go.
Challenge No.2 (NEWS FLASH)
Sky dive (12/07)
Climb to around 12,000 feet then throw myself out
Hopefully land safely
After six and a half hours sat in the parachute centre looking endlessly at the sky wishing for the wind to drop and the clouds to disperse, I eventually came to the conclusion that my day would not include an exhillarating 12,000 foot belly flop..........a new date will be booked and I will fall out of a moving plane, if it kills me!!
Challenge No.3 (COMPLETE)
Tallinn (Estonia) to Warsaw (Poland) cycle ride (23/07 - 02/08)
Approximately 700 miles (TBC) taking in...
Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
Belarus
Poland
5 different countries completed within 10 days! Just under 700 miles, 5 different languages, 5 different currencies and a hell of a lot of meat and potatoes (national dishes of all 5 places) and we are done! The weather report said it was going to rain, unfortunately the exact opposite happened and we were subjected to 8 hours a day of burning sun, I've never prayed for rain so much. All capital cities were fantastic such as Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Warsaw, I'd highly recommend all of them.
.
Challenge No. 4 (COMPLETE)
Great North Run (20/09/09
Half marathon
13.1 mile run from Newcastle to Gatehead
I managed to beat my previous time of 2hrs and 3 minutes with a respectable 1hr 57 mins. I ran all the way and managed to stay clear of cramp. Straight after the event I found it a wee bit difficult to walk but pleased I did it.I have now completed all tasks apart from the Skydiving but that will be completed sometime soon.
I think you'll agree three of them will definitely work up a sweat, and the forth may lose different bodily fluids, but all are worth sending a few quid to a charity who's work enriches the lives of those who are affected by MS, and those who regularly care for them.

I'm not looking for x amount per mile, either cycled, run or fallen, just a one off payment to a worthy cause for 4 difficult challenges.

I will update those who sponsor me on each of the challenges once complete
