On Saturday 20th June 2009 I will be cycling a 100 mile circumnavigation of the City of Bristol, mostly on the Avon Cycleway. I am doing this to raise money for a particularly wonderful charity called TREE AID that I have been supporting over the past 15 years.
It is often hard to know where to invest most helpfully but TREE AID direct their resources in an empowering way to generate sustainable change. Its operations are (mainly) in Burkino Faso – one of the poorest nations on earth. They help people find ways to use trees to generate sustainable wealth through tree husbandry and the retail of tree-derived products. And more trees means less C02 for everybody.
For more information take a look at www.treeaid.org.uk or look at the photos at http://tinyurl.com/treeaid
I hope to raise £1000 to buy bikes in Burkino - essential for getting fruit like the Baobabs, opposite, to market,
Kind regards and I hope you'll feel able to make a donation.
