Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are embarking on a trekking expedition to Manasalu, a remote region in the Himalayas, Nepal, to raise money for a much needed Van to support various client involved activities across our 5 supported housing  projects in Cambridge, many of those we support are among the most vulnerable and chronically excluded in society.

Below is a list of the Cambridge echg supported housing  projects set to benefit :

222 Victoria Road  (homeless hostel for ages18-65yrs housing 74 residents)

17-19 Willow Walk  (homeless hostel for ages 18-65yrs housing 22 residents)

Cambridge Youth Foyer ( youth project for ages 16-25yrs housing 30 residents)

The Move on Houses, (7 three bedroomed properties in Cambridge housing  21 residents )

The Tenancy Sustainment Team (supporting 70 fomer homeless clients to manage their own tenancies)

The additon of a van would be a great resource and put to good use, supporting residents to engage in service activities which give them something positive to do with the aim of building their self esteem, developing their skills and building social networks away from the streets. Below are a few examples of activities and workshops which are currently running

Gardening Projects        Pre Tenancy Workshops- Its Your Move ,

Painting and Decorating ,  Learning Power Awards

In addition to this the van will also enable us to support clients moving on from our hostels and foyer accomodation to their own tenancies. This is an area where residents often struggle, having little resources and few friends to call on for suopport. The van support residents to move their belongings and collect any furniture that has been donanated to to use in thier new home.

Our aim is to involve clients who are engaged in our 'It's Your Move'  Resettlemenet Project to source  and repair furniture which will be stored until they move.  Involving clients in this will enable them to learn new skills, whilst improving confidence and understanding of managing a home, which for many will be a completly new experience. It will also help to ease the anxiety and stress of moving which residents from a homeless background often face and help to ensure a positive start in a new home

Our overall aim with all projects is to enable our residents to have the opportunities to lead full and independent lives.  We hope you feel able to support our trek.

All the money raised will go towards the purchase of the van.  The flights and trek have been paid for by ourselves.
