My story

Adam Lewis and Alex Weddell, both of the ESD Group at ECS, are undertaking a sponsored climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of the Southampton Hospital Charity.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. They are likely to endure altitude sickness, fatigue, and extremes of temperature on their trek to the 5,895m peak.
The 21 climbers are all connected to the Neonatal Unit at Princess Anne Hospital. It is one of the UK’s largest intensive care units for newborn babies, and looks after babies from as far afield as Chichester, Dorchester, Basingstoke, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands. The sponsored trek is raising money to improve the parent accommodation, which will enable the families of sick babies to stay close to them.
They start their trek on Sunday 10th October, and the group has already raised over £33,000.
