My story

On 22 April, I will be attempting to run the London Marathon for the first time. It's going to be tough – and I'm not expecting a fast time. But the thing that will drive me on – and has kept me going through months of gruelling training – is thinking about the two great charities I am running for, both of which I have worked closely with over the last few years: Action for Stammering Children and Whizz Kidz.

You can donate to Action for Stammering Children on this page and this is what your sponsorship money could help to fund:

·      £100 would provide a one on one therapy session between a child and an expert speech and language therapist

·      £50 would provide one day’s training for a generalist speech & language therapist to enable them to provide stammering therapy to children locally.

·      £25 would help fund ASC’s helpline for anxious parents

Thanks so much for your support.

ASC's mission is to help children and young people overcome the challenges created by their stammer and lead happy and fulfilling adult lives. We do this by increasing the availability of specialist services at the Michael Palin Centre in London and the Stammering Support Centre in Leeds.
