Born on 20 December, Stella (meaning ‘star’) is definitely the best Christmas present that anyone could have been given. Just turning two-years-old in 2009, she is gentle natured and, in spite of all the unnatural things that are happening to her, tries to laugh and smile and rarely complains, crying only when she is very frightened. It would be a great pity not to see her grow up because she is so very fascinated by the world around her, enjoying the squirrels and birds in the garden, the bees and the slugs and digging in her sandpit.
Stella loves her big sister Zoe (who is now four years old) very much and they are inseparable. It makes us smile to see them dancing around to music, though – at the moment – Stella can barely walk and is having physiotherapy to improve this. If anyone wants to bring a smile to Stella’s face, then balloons and bubbles, Maisy Mouse and Postman Pat go down a treat. For our part, we’d just like her to be with us for many Christmases to come.
