Thanks for visiting my son Eddie's and my fundraising page. On Saturday 13th June 2009 Eddie and I managed to climb Helvellyn in the Lake District, which is the third highest mountain in England, for the Gearing Up 4 Gorillas (G4G) charity. Eddie had read about the plight of the mountain gorillas and is very concerned that they are the most endangered species of the world's great ape population. Destruction of their habitat and poaching for their bushmeat is having a huge impact on these gorillas. This, coupled with recent wars in the areas in which they live, has made it difficult for the rangers to protect these species.
We would like to sincerely thank those of you who donated before our climb, it really helped us to keep going and those who may be visiting after our subsequent pleading. The funds will be donated to the Gearing Up 4 Gorillas charity, details of which can be found below. Every little helps!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Gearing Up 4 Gorillas (G4G) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks again,
Richard & Eddie
