Hi Everyone,
After a few wrong turns...coming down Ben Nevis on a vertical scree slope... scrambling up waterfalls on Scafell Pike at 3am in pitch dark and the fog, despite this we finally managed to complete the three peaks challenge this weekend (25/26th July), in 23 hours and 35 minutes, within our 24 hour limit. Hurrah!!
It was hard, sweaty, smelly and great fun. We are so pleased that we managed to complete it for Ed, his foundation and Brain Tumour UK. We would like to thank all of you who have given so far and those of you that will continue to give. This page will continue to receive donations until 30th September 2008. We also would like to thank our driver, Pascal for putting up with the smell and getting us to our mountains in good time and for making us great sarnies.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the challenge, here is a brief synopsis. The 3 peaks challenge consists of hiking up and down the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales; Ben Nevis Scarell Pike and Snowdon respectively in a time of 24 hours.
We did this challenge in memory of and as a tribute to our dear friend, Ed Evans who died last October as a result of a brain tumour. Ed bravely fought his tumour for 5 years and set up the Ed Evans Foundation http://www.edevansfoundation.co.uk/ to raise awareness and money for brain tumour and cancer resarch. Brain tumour UK is one of the charities that Ed and the Ed Evans foundation support. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Brain Tumour UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Brain Tumour UK is one of the chosen charities of the Ed Evans Foundation.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support from Rachel, Leah, Sam, James and Pascal
