Since its inauguration in 2003 The Edinburgh Marathon has firmly established itself as one of Scotland’s premier sporting and fundraising events. The Edinburgh Marathon has forged strong links with a great variety of Scottish and UK charities, raising £2m each year for hundreds worthwhile causes.

The aim of the marathon is to create a world class event that provides runners with an exceptional personal challenge whilst also providing a platform for Scottish and UK charities to raise vital funds though sponsorship.

The Edinburgh Marathon is more than just a race – it is a festival of fun with on-route entertainment and finish-line celebrations. The race day will also reflect great human spirit thanks to the thousands of runners raising much needed funds for charitable causes.
