Guys and Girls...I am back again... This time with mum in tow.
As I am sure many of you will know, my precious little sister Ellis lost her fight against Osteosarcoma (Bone Cancer), aged 16 in June 2008. In the eighteen months that have passed, we, along with so many wonderful friends, have done everything within our means to create something positive of the heart-ache and rollercoaster of emotions we confront daily since losing my sister and my parents "baby".
After the success of Ellis' Birthday Ball in May 2009, amongst our super set of friends, we have come up with the rather special 2010 challenge. With the help of my friend Amy Patsalides, we have secured the support of the mighty PHONES 4 U, who are taking 36 of their finest employees on the challenge of a life time, climbing Kilimanjaro.
In less than five weeks time, along with the 36 strong team of Phones 4 U guys, Mum and I will be embarking on the six day climb, five nights camping journey. Although its been a turbulent training process, we are head strong and hopeful that this HUGE, almost 6'000M climb, will help us raise tonnes of money for Scat as part of the Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation.
Of course for mum and I this climb will be no easy feat. Sporting the amazing "Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation" printed kit that Blackberry kindly provided, we will be embarking on a journey in memory of my sorely missed little sister Ellis. Of course my mum, Nicky will be walking proudly in her kit, striving every step to make Ellis proud and assist other children to fight the disease Ellis fought so hard to beat.
I knew from day one that this would be more than just a climb, firstly the emotional attachment mum and I have to this challenge, but secondly that my mum has never taken on a project like this before in her life, in saying that, the marathons completed are days long gone for me too. However, with the support of Phones 4 U we hope to make over £100'000 for SCAT, Mum and I need to contribute to making that £100'000 possible.
With our major fundraiser being so early on in the year, we promise not to exhaust you all again, but ask you to dig deep and that you continue to support The Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation in the way you have so generously done up until now.
Wishing you all a truly Happy Healthy 2010...
Nicky and Billie x x x
