We aim to raise sufficient funds to help kidney patients of Guy's and St Thomas' and the Evelina London Children's Hospital, their families and carers achieve a good quality of life. In addition we support kidney research and promotes awareness of kidney disease and organ donation.

Story

Eileen was a regular patient at the kidney department at Guy’s Hospital where she was on dialysis for eight years before receiving a successful transplant in January 1998. In 2008 she was diagnosed with a lymphoma and underwent extensive chemotherapy and overcame it by the end of the year, however following a scan at the start of 2009 the lymphoma had returned and this time it was incurable. She sadly passed away in the early hours of 29th June 2009.

In memory of her and instead of flowers the family is asking that people donate money, if they wish, to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Kidney Patients’ Association. This is the charity who helped her and who are dedicated to helping many thousands of others facing similar circumstances. It would be a fitting memorial to Eileen - a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother.

Mum will be sadly missed; she overcame all that was laid before her with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. A great source of inspiration and courage to us all, we can only hope that all of us can remain half as positive as her in the future.

Despite her tremendous spirit throughout the last twenty years unfortunately this was one fight too many. We love you always and we miss you.

However little you can spare would be a great memorial to Mum and a great help to the hospital.

Eileen's funeral is at 10.15am on Weds 15th July at Eltham Crematorium (North Chapel). Click here for a map.

The nearest station is Falconwood, a quarter of a mile away. Live departure & arrival information.
