Thanks for taking the time to visit Steve's - JustGiving page.
UPDATE 07/10/09
Following ongoing reviews of the proposed project area in India and due specifically to an escalating threat of violent ‘terrorist’ activity very close to the proposed project site in Jharkhand, we have had to take the decision to completely reorganise
The NEW Project foothills of Mt.Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, East Africa
This project will work alongside local communities and within two community schools to develop their educational facilities and improve the learning environment and experience for many hundreds of local school kids. There is a school hall and kitchen to complete, many classrooms to renovate and a playground to be designed and built as a starting point. Tanzania has huge number of orphans resulting from HIV/Aids our efforts over this time period will have a massive impact on these communities and importantly give much needed hope for the children of this region and for generations to come.
eaga will still be helping the marhamjhaga village in the future to carry out the changes required but will also be making a large donation now to help in the short term also half of any money raised on this page will go to this cause .
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
This October I will be embarking on a challenge of a lifetime and heading off to a rural Indian community. I will be improving school facilities and installing clean water systems with Childreach International. The project aims to make an enormous and very real difference to several clusters of communities in a very remote tribal region. The people in these communities are very poor and survive on a small wage of only 50p per day per family. With your funding help, we intend to improve irrigation systems to stimulate markets for crop harvest and bring much needed finance into the area to support education, health and array of essential services.
My target is to raise a minimum of £5200 by mid September 2009. To kick off the sponsorship process, I have organised a tandem skydive jump along with 12 of my brave colleagues. This jump will take place on the 12 September at Lancaster Airfield. The minimum sponsorship for each individual has been set at £400 with the cost of the jump being £265 each. (The total cost of the jump will be £3445, leaving £1755 raised for the above mentioned charity)
The brave colleagues committed to this jump are:Rick Hardaker, Glen Minshull, Michael Greene, Jenny Clegg, Lee Smith, Laura Griffith, Gary Lawson, Mike Cheesman, Gareth rogers, Steve Philips, Simon Marriott & Peter Jones
I understand that conditions are difficult at present but i would be extremely grateful if you could make a contribution to this worthwhile venture
