My story

 

I completed 100 lengths in 52 minutes on Wednesday 30th September 2009.

Welcome to my fundraising page.

On 30th September 2009 I will be swimming 100 lengths in aid of The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society at Talacre Beach Caravan & Leisure Parks in North Wales. This is a huge personal challenge for me, attempting to achieve this distance, whilst living with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic, progressive and disabling auto-immune disease affecting almost half a million people in the UK.  It is an incredibly painful condition which can cause severe disability.  The disease can progress very rapidly, causing swelling and damaging cartilage and bone around the joints.  It can affect the whole body and internal organs such as the lungs, heart and eyes.
