Hello again. Here is some "Evidence" of my sponsored abseil. Spot the tiny "Matchbox" cars?
The big day dawned, bright, calm and sunny, as you can see from the photo. We got to the Tower in good time and I was the second to go, following a lovely thirteen year old boy called Max. Well, if he could do it...pride reared its ugly head, and I couldn't let him best me, could I? It was my turn!!! What a treat it was too. Wonderful views across the countryside and family and friends cheering me on. Perfect. Unfortunately, it was over far too soon. My legs turned to jelly after the event, so we were all wobbling around at that stage! I'd like to do it again, if I could find a very tall building.
However, thanks to the kindness, generosity and fabulous support I have had from so many of you, I am able to tell you that together we have raised over £1,000 for Kemp House Hospice. That is a fantastic ammount of money, and I know that there are still some outstanding pledges to come in.
I can't thank you all enough. Joan and Len, my Mum and Dad, in whose memory this was done, would be tickled pink too! ! With very fondest regards Best Wishes Elaine. x x x x x
