On the weekend of the 1st/2nd August 2009, our team of "ELITE ATHELTES" will be conquering the 3 highest mountain peaks in Great Britain in under 24 hours, to help raise vital funds for VSO.
Starting with Ben Nevis (4410 ft) in Scotland, then Scafell Pike (3205 ft) in England, and finally Mount Snowdon (3560 ft) in Wales, our team of 6 walkers and 2 support crew will tackle this challenge for the sake of raising a minimum of £5,000 for VSO.
VSO is an international development charity that works through volunteers. Their vision is a world without poverty in which people work together to fulfill their potential. VSO brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all.
Your contribution to our fundraising efforts will help VSO continue with this important work and ensure many of these amazing and life changing initiatives can continue to support those who need them.
Your donations really do make a difference:
• Just £50 provides HIV and AIDS training for a VSO volunteer to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in local communities throughout Zambia.
• £500 helps a VSO volunteer in the Philippines to provide training for local communities in how to implement programmes to conserve natural resources such as water.
• And £1,000 helps provide a small grant to one of VSO’s grassroots partners in Southern Africa, helping them to improve services, such as training HIV & AIDS counsellors to care for people in their homes.
It's very easy and secure to make a donation online, by clicking on the "Sponsor Us Now" link below. Any amount will be greatly received, and we really appreciate you digging deep for this worthwhile cause!
