Hello everybody ^_^
Thank you for visiting! My project is called 'active member of the band', and the basic premise is that i'm getting in touch with as many bands/singers as I can - famous, unknown, signed, unsigned etc - and asking them to get involved. They can do two things: the first is that they ask me to do some sort of task for them: this can be anything! It could be helping to write a song, pressing the 'record' button, reviewing a cd, going to a gig, handing out fliers, spreading the word that they're cool cats - no task is too small.^^ Alternatively, the second thing is that if there's genuinely nothing that needs doing or they're too busy: I ask for their permission to include their name on this page, showing their support of this project.
All funds will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee, a charity associated with disaster related events, and one that is focusing heavily on the Haiti earthquake victims right now.
You may be wondering what this project actually has to do with Haiti - the answer is: nothing! I want to help unsigned artists get recognition; I want to interact with bands in general; and most importantly I really want to do something to help the Haitians who've lost friends, families, and homes. So I thought: why not put everything together?
I will be updating every time a band agrees to be involved in this cause. Obviously the list isn't huge right now, but it will grow. I'm hoping that the bigger the list is, the more people it'll attract, resulting in more donations. Haiti needs help and I intend to give.So pleasepleaseplease: If you want to help - any donations are welcome. Give whatever you can, I know this recession has hit hard, times are tough, it's a hard knock life etc, but every penny counts. Even if you can only afford the tiniest amount, "every little helps" as they say! Anything you can offer would be so helpful, and i'm really grateful to you all.
