Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We are raising funds in memory of our very precious daughter, Elodie Beau Carter. Elodie was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) on 20th October 2008. Elodie was just 4 days old when she died.
CDH affects approximately affects one in every 2,500 births and of these approximately 50% of babies will die. There is currently no known cause.
Elodie was very precious to us and we are very proud to have had her as our daughter. The journey we are going through is a difficult one and it means a lot to us to raise funds in order to help other families with babies and children born with CDH.
In order to raise funds, Dave will be carrying out the Three Peaks Challenge on 4th July. This involves climbing the three highests mountains in the UK all within a 24 hour period. The distance walked is around 25 miles, the height climbed is around 10,000 feet, and the distance to be covered between the mountains is some 450 miles via mini bus.
We are aiming to raise as much money as possible and the Three Peaks Challenge is the first of our events.
All monies raised will go towards Alder Hey Hospital's Imagine Appeal. We are currently in discussions with Alder Hey Hospital with a view to the money going to specifically help babies and children born with CDH.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor Dave. Alder Hey Imagine Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks to all of you for your support.
Clare and Dave Carter
