Story

Welcome and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I know I have asked for sponsorship quite a few times over the last few years but all the money raised has been put towards making a difference at the Lister Hospital.

After I completed my first marathon I promised myself that I would try and complete my first Triathlon so i will be representing Great Britain in the World Triathlon Series in Hyde Park on Sunday 31st May 2015.

The World Series will take place in the following locations Abu Dhabi, Auckland, Gold Coast, Cape Town, Yokohama, it will then come to London followed by Hamburg, Stokholm, Canada and will finish in Chicago, USA which you can watch on BBC2.

After this I will be running the St Albans Half Marathon in June, The Great North Run in September 2015 and The Luton Half Marathon in October

We will also be running in the Windy25 memorial race in Las Vegas on Saturday 28th March which raises money for relatives of fallen military service members.

I will also be taking part in the Banana Man Triathlon on Saturday 11th July at Eton Dorney

This year I am raising money for a project that is currently underway at the East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (Where i work) to implement Electronic Observations for patients.

The Electronic Observation project ensures that hospital policies on capturing vital signs for early warning of deterioration, triggering appropriate clinical responses and completing patient assessments are fully implemented across the Trust.

The prompt response to clinical change is proven to shorten the length of stay, reduce patient transfers to other hospitals and to the intensive care unit.

By identifying deteriorating patients and automatically escalating for clinical response, the e-Obs solution will help us raise care stands and deliver on national and local targets for improvements in care quality and patient safety.

If you can help in any way it would be gratefully appreciated by both myself and all the staff at the Trust.

Thank you

Emma :-)
