My story

 

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I have decided to take up the challenge and run the London Marathon in April this year in aid of a charity called Mind. This charity supports people with Mental Health problems (www.mind.org.uk) and I am taking on this challenge in memory of a close friend whom I used to run with, who suffered from mental illness and is tragically no longer with us. By raising money for Mind I hope I can help them support others who are going through the torment and difficulties experienced by my friend.

Mind works to provide a range of services to enable people with varying degrees of mental distress to have a better quality of life. Mind provides information and support to around 20 000 people each year regarding mental health issues. Depression alone affects at least 1 in 5 of us at some point in our lives with nearly 3 million people suffering at any one time.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me.  Mind The Mental Health Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
