<p>We are the only national charity solely dedicated to fighting loneliness and acute isolation in old age. We organise regular, monthly tea parties on a Sunday afternoon in the homes of our volunteers across the UK. These outings are a ray of light in the lives of older people living alone; giving them something to look forward to in the knowledge that someone cares and the opportunity to make new and lasting friendships with fellow guests and our volunteers. </p> <p>Contact the Elderly is a registered charity in England and Wales (244681) and in Scotland (SC039377) </p>

This is a really wonderful charity that I volunteer for. I am the co-ordinator for the Greenwich Contact The Elderly Group. Once a month the Greenwich volunteer Drivers and I take a group of people, aged 75 or over, to a tea party hosted by another volunteer. This really makes a huge difference to the lives of these people, many of whom could go for months without seeing anyone without Contact.

"I felt that I had come out of a dark tunnel into the light. Before I joined Contact, I thought that my life had ended - and now it's started again!" an elderly guest.
