My name's Emma, and to those of you who know me this may come as a suprise -  i am going to be running the London marathon in April!! This is going to be a major challenge for me as i am not a runner and 26 miles is a long way!

I am running for the Poole hospital wish list and the money i raise will be going towards redesigning and equiping new facilities within one of the oncology wards in the hospital. As i am a Poole girl both my family and i have been patients in Poole hospital and i am currently completing my nurses training within the hopsital, so i feel that by completing this challenge i would be putting something back into the hospital.

I have worked within the oncology department of Poole and have friends who have received care there. The ward that the money is going towards will benefit from it hugely as it will be able to provide more single occupancy rooms with en-suite facilities, which will not only provide patients with their own room but will help with infection control.  The money will also go towards new specialist and treatment areas within the ward.

I am looking at raising a minmum of £1000, so any donations you could make would be gratefully received.
