Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I've signed up for the Loch Ness marathon on 4th October 2009 and am raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I'll be running in memory of my grandad, Ken, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 1996. He loved Scotland which is why I've chosen to undertake my first marathon there. He was a keen cyclist and loved being out in the fresh air. Cycling's not really my forte but I hope I can do him proud.
Macmillan do a great job in providing support to those people affected by cancer and in lots of different ways. This is a cause very close to my heart and a little bit of money goes a long way to helping cancer patients and their families:
- £10 could pay for 20 copies of The Cancer Guide, a booklet that can help someone recently diagnosed with cancer, and their families, to understand cancer, its treatment and the help available.
- £24 could pay for a Macmillan physiotherapist for an hour
- £68 could run a small Macmillan Information and Support centre for an hour
Everything I raise will be going directly to Macmillan and will help continue their good work so please give what you can.
Thank you!
