About Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities
Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities was founded in 1980 and operates from 16 offices located in the main population centres throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The network of offices provides the infrastructure to support People with Disabilities seeking work.
The main services provided are as follows:
- Interview to discuss aspirations and abilities
- Advice on preparing c.v.
- Help with job search process
- Interview guidance and preparation
- Assistance with job application process
- Job skills training courses
- Post employment advice and support
The Charity will help any disabled person find work, regardless of their disability, and is successful in helping people into all types of employment.
The Charity is a job broker for New Deal for Disabled People and also operates the Workstep scheme for JobCentre plus.
Our history
Employment Opportunities was founded in 1980 by 10 major City of London employers and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh became Charity patron.
The aim was to ensure that those employers tried to recruit disabled people into their businesses.
