Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We'd like to tell you a little about the cause, and the event...

Two teams from Equi=Media are completing the Ridgewalk, which is a 26 or 52 mile trek across the ridgeway, depending on the event entered.

Stacey, Jo, Jodi and Chris are doing the 26mile walk, and Huxley, Tom, Jonathan and Paul are braving the 52 mile walk!!  There is a time limit on each event (12 hours for the 26 and 24 hours for the 52).

We have until May to train, and are getting a little nervous about what we have let ourselves in for, but we have great support teams that will be with us along the way to keep us motivated and of course, it's all for a good cause...

SENSE is an amazing charity, providing expert advice and information as well as specialist services to deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionsals that work with them. They also support people who have sensory impairments with additional disabilities.

What can our fundraising efforts do for Sense?

£5 – Could buy a set of musical bells to help stimulate even the tiniest amount of a deafblind child’s hearing in music therapy.

£15 – Could pay for a tactile book to develop a child’s sense of sight and touch at a Sense family centre.

£25 – Could buy an interactive light tube to help stimulate a deafblind child’s remaining sight.

£50 – Could help pay for a deafblind child’s vital first assessment.

£700 – Could send a deafblind child on a dream holiday. These holidays not only provide life-changing experiences, full of fun, learning and special care but they also give carers and family members a well earned break allowing them to spend more quality time with other children and family.

£1,000 – Could enable Sense to buy a sonic chair at one of their day centers enabling more deafblind people to benefit from these sensations. Operated by a large button control these chairs heat up, massage different parts of the body, and vibrate at different frequencies.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We have an entry target of £3,400 to hit between the teams, so we need as much help as possible to hit these targets - please dig deep and donate now, every little really does help!
