WELL – I DID IT!!
Despite the gale force winds and the fact that the abseil had to be postponed on Saturday due to the weather conditions, I finally managed on the Sunday to abseil down the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse no less than three times and raised over £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support. An extremely big thank you to all my sponsors and to those sceptics, dig your hands in your pocket and support a very worthwhile cause. Donations can still be made via my just giving website or direct to me at training or games. Eric (Adrenaline Junkie)
ONE SMALL STEP FOR MANKIND – ONE GIANT LEAP FOR ERIC!! To the west of Fort William at Acharacle stands the imposing Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. On the 9th August 2008 one man, armed only with a moustache, will attempt to abseil this extremely tall structure in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support - Eric Mannall, will defy his overpowering fear of acrophobia, face his demons and step over the edge. When asked, why an abseil? Eric said," It's those Cromar's..... they've been pushing me over the edge for years!" Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, medical and emotional support for patients, family and friends who fall victim and are affected by the terrible and frightening disease that is cancer. Eric needs your support as he literally 'goes over the edge' in helping to push for better cancer care. You can sponsor Eric by making a pledge directly to him on 01224 770038 or on-line via this just giving account. Donating via the website is fast and totally secure and if you are a tax payer you can also agree to gift aid this amount which means that the Government will add a further 25% direct to the charity with no cost to you. Thank you for your support.
