The climb to the summit was a tough one, building the school with the community was some fun team work and of course spending time with the wonderful children made it a perfect trip!

Welcome to my new adventure!
This summer, I have decided to set myself a double challenge :
- A physical one (And I am hoping to make it to the top - 4,566 metres of it!) : climbing Meru, Africa's fourth highest mountain. Mount Meru is an active volcano located 70 kilometres west of Mount Kilimanjaro in the nation of Tanzania. It is still visible from Mt Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Mount Meru is the centerpiece of Arusha National Park and hosts some very diverse wildlife, so I am in for some great photo shots to share with you on my return (together with no doubt, a few blister tales!)
- A charity challenge: helping to build a primary school at Choba on the Tanzania coast. Many of these children are orphans as a result of AIDS. The funds raised will go to helping build the primary school. At present the children have to trek over four miles to a primary school, usually on empty stomachs. So although primary education is a legal right for children in Tanzania, for some it is more accessible than others. I will also spending time with the children of Choba helping them with their education and the development of their facilities.
